Simpsons
Although they have been the lovable family since the early 90s, they are constantly reinventing themselves. Tonight's show began with Ms. Krabappel's absence to get her sister out of a cult, which caused the "other" fourth grade class to have to be combined with Bart's. Here he meets a girl named Nikki, and he finds a companion that later becomes a love interest. Although, as Simpsons always tend to do, they have to turn something potentially mushy into something hilarious. Instead of her being consistent in her emotions, she plays into the stereotyped female, in which Bart is left confused and not sure of how to continue. Also there is a hilarious scene in which Principle Skinner and Groundskeeper Willy make out. If you didn't catch this one, it was definitely one for the books, if nothing else you got to see Nelson connect with blind kid that slowly becomes a bully.
The Cleveland Show
The start of the show has Cleveland showing his true self to his wife, Donna. He is a slob and a drunk and Donna is sick and tired of it. The new friends that Cleveland has made learned that he has never taken Donna on a honeymoon. Since the guys gave Cleveland a hard time, he decided to plan a honeymoon for Donna. He surprises her by disguising himself as a thief ready to rape her. She attacks and Cleveland pulls off the mask to tell Donna that he has planned a trip for her to New York for a romantic honeymoon. Only to Donna's surprise, Cleveland's friends hitch a ride as well with one specific person going to reunite with Tyne Daly. Also Roberta, Cleveland Jr., and Rollo stow away in the trunk of the limo so that they can make it big in the Big Apple. When everyone arrived, they all went their separate ways so that Cleveland and Donna can have their alone time. But many high jinks keep Cleveland from enjoying the time that he should have had with Donna. Cleveland had to save one of his friends from an angry black mob in Harlem because he used the "N" word, the other friend, the bear, he had to rescue from a gay bar, and the other friend he had to save from Donald Trump. With all this going on, the kids were searching around town for their chance to become famous stars. Needless to say, it didn't happen. In the end, Donna realized that Cleveland is needed by all of his friends as well as her and that's part of the reason she married him was because he is there whenever he is needed. The show ends however, with a hilarious scene of Tyne Daly chasing after the limo that everyone jumped into as a she-hulk like creature leaving the kids behind in New York.
Family Guy
Family Guy opens with Stewie playing the plug on the Terri Schiavo case that they have shamefully (as well as hilariously) turned into a musical. Sadly Stewie walks out on stage and freezes, once again reminding the audience that he is a baby (granted a baby that is determined to destroy the world but a baby nonetheless). It then goes to Peter taping Richard Dreyfuss and Richard punching Peter and his glasses getting broke, which leads to Peter's boss, Angela finding him attractive and starting an aggressive, sexual harassing relationship. Eventually it leads to Peter saving Angela from attempting suicide and they have sex. So the lesson is men can't be sexually harassed and the only way to deal with it is to have sex with the person harassing you. Gotta love the social commentary that's always connected to Family Guy. Great job Seth!
