Our literature page will consist of some of the new and old literature that we have currently been reading and possibly some paper topics that may be useful to a lot of student and some basic information about the novel. There will be a few author bios posted under this page. We are both English Grad students so this and writing is definitely in our zone. As always leave comments and visit often, for we are always updating and changing the site and our literature page regularly.

My Review of the Literature I Read:

This week I was able to read Grendel by John Gardner. This is a retelling to the Beowulf story in which Grendel, the monstrous villain, becomes the antihero. Gardner takes and interesting perspective on this tale, actually giving Grendel more of a back story as well as chance for the reader to actually feel sympathy for his plight. Although this book is not new, its perspective is still highly respected as new and inventive. A challenge to readers and writers alike with this insightful read. Definitely worth checking out!

Music Jan 15th to 21st

Beyonce and Jay-Z welcomed a baby girl earlier this month. Following the tradition of most Hollywood celebs, the two named their daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The name holds significance to both mom and dad. Blue is the color most often associated with Jay-Z, i.e. all of the Blueprint albums. And well Beyonce was born Sept. 4 and Jay-Z was Dec. 4 and the two were wed on April 4. 4 is also the title of Bey’s new album. Showing that the powerhouse couple could put their creative minds to work they came up with Ivy because of the Roman numeral for 4 (IV). The proud papa also created a song for his first child. The song, “Glory”, can be heard on Jay-Z’s website LifeandTimes.com.

Totallyrandomhobbies.com would like to wish the happy Carter family the best! Welcome to the world Blue Ivy!

Here are a few of the proud mama’s songs that I personally enjoy.

Do your thing B!!
