Writer’s Block

Got Writer’s Block?

Okay the common trait of the upcoming writing or even the established writer/author is the dreaded writer’s block. Although this can be the worst thing ever, it can also be sign of a writer who just wants to produce the best. It may be simply psychological, which truly it should be because there’s nothing physically stopping you from typing. However this trait can be bested as long as you have a few tactics that can help you get over it.

Try brainstorming . Yes, this seems quite simple, but just get a rush of ideas at once can trigger insight into what you were having problems with. Get out a piece of paper and start writing down ideas and try to build on those ideas. Some people like to do webs in which there is a central idea and you branch off of it, and other simply like to create lists. You could also do full descriptions and add in as many details as you like. Brainstorming takes away the pressure of having to make is sound perfect, rather you can completely flesh out an idea rather than simply trying to write with no precedents.

Try simply writing. Pick up the pen, pencil, or keyboard and just keep writing. It does not matter what it deals with, rather the idea is to keep the writing. You will probably start by describing what you did that day and then it could develop into something substantial. Soon you could be writing yourself out of the rut that you wrote yourself into. The goal is to keep writing for a set amount of time. Set a goal of fifteen or thirty minutes, or as long as you like, and just continually write. You’ll come up with something.

If you truly find that you cannot sit down and write anything, one way of getting pass this is simply get something to record your voice. Instead of writing down the ideas, if the idea of writing is intimidating you that much, simply record yourself. Talk about your ideas in as much detail as possible and at some point you may be surprise what you come across. It could create a way to be able to write yourself something new, better, and you’ll be over the block.

Get out a pad and record life. Many interesting things happen in life around, all you have to do is write it down. Carry a small pen/pencil and pad with you, something small enough to fit in your pocket, and write down varied details of life as they happen. You might be able to use some of these in your writing and also you constantly writing. If you blog, you could just use a video blog. It gives you chance to get out ideas without picking up something to write with.

In conclusion the only way to break writer’s block is by writing, plain and simple. You can say taking a break will fix it, and it may. But taking a break for a day or two, can become a week, which can lead to a year, and the length continues. Keep writing, even if you let no one reads it but you. Just keep writing. Happy writing!

I truly like the fresh perpective you did on the issue. Really was not expecting that when I started off studying. Your concepts were simple to understand that I wondered why I never looked at it prior to. Glad to know that there’s an individual out there that certainly understands what he’s discussing. Fantastic job
