Simply Writing
Simply Writing
Write Anything
This seems to be the main thing that I keep stressing with trying to break writer’s block, is to simply write. Now keep in mind that this idea of writing does not have to be something that is complex, such as writing on the novel, short story, or etc. It can be something as simple as making a list, brainstorming, writing down ideas, writing in response to something that has sparked your interest, writing down plans, future events, jokes; all that really matters is that you keep the pen going.
Time Yourself
Time yourself. Set a specific time in which you are going to write either everyday or every other day or just set aside a couple of days a week if you have a really pressing schedule. REMEMBER: You will never have any more time in your day than you do now, so if you don’t make time you won’t have any. Also not only set aside a time, (if you are really having trouble getting past a certain point) simply set a time limit. That could mean anything from saying you’re going to write for at least fifteen minutes straight, without interruption to two hours. Now you could just set aside a full hour and do increments of ten minutes or just write a whole hour without stopping, try various ways to ensure that you can find which way works best for you.
To simply keep writing, literally just means to keep writing. Don’t stop. If you need to take a break that’s understandable, but try to make a commitment to yourself and don’t break it. You can’t grow, learn, or evolve in writing unless you write. It doesn’t get any simpler.
